Fundraiser RAFFLE TICKET
To raise money for a family facing genocide in Palestine, we have arranged our BIGGEST raffle EVER with over 10 artists donating their work. Across the two raffle pools, we've got a MASSIVE grand total of over £500, with each prize totalling over £250 - meaning you could win BIG with just a £10 ticket! And rest assured that every penny will be going to a lifesaving and urgent cause as 100% of all ticket sales will be going directly to a family in Palestine.
ABOUT THE RECIPIENT;
We are fundraising for Mona Zaqout and her family, who are hoping to evacuate from under the siege on Gaza into Egypt. Funds will be used to help this family afford the basic necessities for survival and hopefully even rebuild their life in a safer environment. Mona hopes to continue her education in computer engineering, a dream which was cut short during her very first semester after her entire family became homeless during the violence and were forced to evacuate to Khan Yunis.
Unfortunately their misfortune didn’t end there, as the violence soon followed to Khan Yunis and Mona’s family were forced out of the house they were crowded into with four other families - but not before they had experienced being trapped for days under threat of ground invasion, with no food and only rainwater for survival. In the following months, Mona’s family suffered devastating loss as one of her brothers - Mohamed - was martyred only 5 days before his birthday. Mona’s family then sought shelter with many other refugees in a local school, which too shortly faced ground invasion.
Now, Mona and her family - including her sick father and two surviving brothers - are reduced to hiding in a nylon tent, suffering through extreme cold and heat, waiting in lines for hours to secure water and surrounded by death, disease and unhygienic conditions. To have any hope of a better life, Mona’s family still needs to raise over £20,000 more - any and all donations could make a life changing difference to this family.
